Choreographer's Note: "Game Over" was presented in Pomona College's annual dance concert, "In the Works". "In the Works" is a concert dedicated to the work of student choreographers.
This piece was centered around protest, memoriam, and queer pedagogy. "Game Over" as a piece of art and as a title refers to the fact that being queer, openly in society, is a game of power and resilience, and it's one that so many of us lose. Queer people are killed in droves, and the system doesn't care. I wanted to take the time to honor the lives of queer people we've lost, as well as offer some hope for our future.
